Abolene Juanita Lathan Wilhite

Mrs. Abolene Juanita “Abbie” Lathan Wilhite, 88, of Carey Street, Elberton, wife of 47 years to the late Carl Clarence Wilhite, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center.

Mrs. Wilhite was born in Stephens County on January 29, 1933, daughter of the late Lamon Leland Lathan and Ruby Annie Catherine Busha Lathan. She was a graduate of Elbert County High School where she was a member of the Beta Club, and was a member of Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked in business management most of her life and retired from Wal-Mart.

Survivors include her children: Carl Wilhite of Elberton and Rhonda Wilhite Potts of Marietta; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 16, at 1 o’clock at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Mr. Jason Holland officiating.

Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
