Agnes Virginia Grimes

Mrs. Agnes Virginia Smith Grimes, 88, of River Rd., Elberton, GA passed away Sunday, February 9th, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Grimes was born August 8th, 1931 in Elberton, GA to the late Ed Chapman Smith and Lollie Mercier Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Eliam United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Grimes is survived by her daughter, Carol Sims of Elberton, GA, two grandchildren, Nicole Veal and Nick Veal and six great-grandchildren, Lacey Rucker, Zoey Rucker, Layton Veal, Kinsley Veal, Logan Stephens and Rylle Stephens.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John C. Grimes, brother Harry Smith and sisters Kathleen Worley, Louise Wilson and Lorene Collins.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Friday February 14th at Eliam United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Billy Grimes, Ken Rice, Zac Brooks, Chris Smith, CJ Smith and Zack Smith serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7PM to 9PM Thursday night February 13th at Berry Funeral Home.
