Mrs. Mary Agnes Ward, 82, of Elberton, GA, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Heardmont Nursing Home. Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late Reuben and Dora McCullough Anderson.She celebrated 54 years of marriage with her husband, the late L. Lamar Ward.She was the owner/operator of The Vacuum Center in Elberton for more than 25 years. Mrs. Ward is survived by three sons: Andy Ward (Nancy) of Acworth, GA, David Ward of Marietta, GA, and Wayne Ward (Polly) of Elberton, GA.She is also survived by six grandchildren:Josh Harper, Will Ward, Sarah Ward, Ashley Haynes, Alyson Counts, and Drew Ward;and six great-grandchildren.She also leaves behind one sister, Hazel Smith of Elberton.In addition to her parents and husband,Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. A service to celebrate Mrs. Ward’s life will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Branch Baptist Church, with Rev. Ken Wright officiating.A time of visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be graciously accepted in honor of Mrs. Ward’s love for beautiful flowers.
