Albert Maurice "Shorty" Ruff, Sr., 84, of 3272 Horace Road, Bowman, husband of Caroleen Seymour Ruff, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ruff was born in Elbert County, December 16, 1927, to the late Martin Calvin and Victorine Jones Ruff. He was a retired Electrical Contractor, a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Caroleen Seymour Ruff of the home; son, Albert Maurice Ruff, Jr. of Elberton; daughter, Melody Ruff Burkett of Lilburn; brother, James Wyatt Ruff of Elberton; sisters, Peggy R. Greenway and Theresa R. Albertson, both of Elberton; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles W. Ruff and Wallace D. Ruff; and sisters, Elizabeth R. Fortson and Barbara R. Barger. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Barger and the Rev. Michael Marcengill officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Randy Ruff, Dennis Greenway, Ken Fortson, Randy Yeargin, Jeff Ruff, Marc Albertson, and David Brown honored to serve as pallbearers. The Ruff family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11AM prior to the service.
