Beth (Alberta Elizabeth Cliett) Kersey, age 65, passed away peacefully in her home on February 9th , 2024, in Elberton, GA surrounded by loved ones.
Beth was born on October 21, 1958, in Athens, GA to Otis Jackson and Marion Crawford Johnson Cliett. She graduated from Elbert County High school in 1977 and then attended Athens Technical College and the University of Georgia graduating with an Associates in Retail Management.
Throughout her early years, Beth was a manager for several retail stores. After meeting her husband in 1985, she and her family moved back to Elberton to help care for her late mother and her own family, while enjoying the small town life.
In her free time, she found reading, and arts and crafts to be two of her favorite hobbies. Always looking for ways to better her community, she volunteered as a lifeguard at the YMCA, started a Food Bank in Elberton, and was a member of her local Pilot Club for many years. Beth was an avid fan of Football and Baseball who was always rooting for the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs), The Elbert County Blue Devils, and The Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Loran Kersey, Jr. of Elberton, GA; son, Rambo Kersey of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Savannah Grace, Kenadee Blake, and Ella Graeigh of Athens, GA; daughter in-law, Bambi Nicole Lunsford of Athens, GA; and special friend/caregiver, Chelsea Campbell of Elberton, GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, OJ and Marion Cliett, and brother, Jay Cliett.
Beth's personality was a beacon of light, and her sense of humor was just as legendary as her kindness. She will be missed by many. Rest easy our dear Beth.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
