Mr. Alfredo Rodriguez Zavala, 42, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021.He was born in Ebano San Luis Potosi, Mexico on February 17, 1979.He was the son of Alfredo Rodriguez Torres and Juana Zavala Garcia.Mr. Zavala was a quarryman at Savannah Valley Quarry.He loved his family and his church and would sometimes host VBS in his home.He was loved by all that knew him. Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Benita Ponce; sons, Martin Rodriguez, Mauricio Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez ; Father, Alfredo Rodriguez Torres; Mother, Juana Zavala Garcia; Grandmother, Hipolita Garcia Roque; sisters, Rosalba Rodriguez Zavala, Ana Rodriguez and Claudia Rodriguez; brothers, Luis Rodriguez and Cesar Rodriguez and many extended family and neighbors. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rodriguez Zavala was held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Elberton on Monday, August 2nd at 4:00pm with Santiago Flores officiating. The body lay in state in the church from 3:00pm until service time. There was a time of visitation at the funeral home from 10:00am until 3:00pm on Monday, just prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers was Jesus Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Eligio Ponce, Martin Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, Jesus Ponce, Jose Arismendi and Antonio Arismendi. Rodriguez Zavala trabajaba en una mina de granito de Savannah Valley Quarry. El amaba a su familia y a su iglesia tanto que el y su familia prestaban su hogar para tener la escuelita bÃblica. Fue un hombre amado por muchos. Sus sobrevivientes incluyen a su esposa de 20 años, Benita Ponce; hijos, Martin Rodriguez, Mauricio Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez; Padre, Alfredo Rodriguez Torres; Madre, Juana Zavala Garcia; Abuela, Hipolita Garcia Roque; Hermanas, Rosalba Rodriguez Zavala, Ana Rodriguez y Claudia Rodriguez; Hermanos, Luis Rodriguez y Cesar Rodriguez a de mas de mucha familia extendida, amigos, y vecinos. Un servicio de celebración de vida de el Señor Rodriguez Zavala será en el santuario de First Baptist Church de Elberton Lunes, Agosto 2 a las 4:00 pm con Pastor Santiago Flores como ministro. La visitacion será en la funeraria de Hicks Funeral Home de 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Sirviendo como portadoes del feretro serán Jesus Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Eligio Ponce, Martin Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, Jesus Ponce, Jose Arismendi y Antonio Arismendi.
