Mrs. Alice Jeanette Curtis, 95, of Elberton, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2020.
Alice was born in Steubenville, Ohio on June 21, 1924. She graduated from Wayne High School and was employed at the Standard Carbon Company in Steubenville as a lab technician for many years. Alice had been a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church since her arrival in Elberton in 2008.
Alice’s dear husband, Richard Curtis, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2001. He was the love of her life and she is reunited with him.
Alice is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Wright and her husband John, who she lovingly referred to as “Sonny” rather than son-in-law; grandchildren: Angela Porter and Robert and Kathy Porter; three great-grandsons; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 2 o’clock at Rock Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday, March 13.
Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in her memory to Rock Branch Baptist Church for the Life Center Building.
