Allen R. Drake

Mr. Allen R. Drake, 83, of Hartwell Hwy. Elberton, GA passed away Saturday December 7, 2019 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Drake was born December 16, 1935 in Madison County, GA to Hoyt Drake and Jewel Mitchell Drake. He was a retired watch and clock repairman. He was a past president of the Dixie Drifters Camping Club. He loved camping, crossword puzzles and being around his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Beth Alexander Drake, son and daughter-in-law: Stacy and Sandra Drake of Elberton, GA, brother: Mike Drake of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren: Amber and Jet Trotter, Brittney and Dallas Yeargin, Caitlin Drake and Dayna Drake.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Dennis Drake, grandson Chris Drake and sisters Betty McIntire and Ruth Hicks.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 4PM, Monday December 9 at Dewy Rose Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Shook officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Jet Trotter, Dallas Yeargin, Cameron Fortson, Gerald Hunt, Mike Hunt and Junior Carver serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3PM to 3:45PM just prior to the service at Dewy Rose Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in his memory to Dewy Rose Baptist Church Kitchen Ministry.
