Alvin "Boggie" Mitchell Grizzell, I

Mr. Alvin Mitchell "Boggie" Grizzell, I, 76, of A.M. Grizzell Road, Dewy Rose, husband of 54 years to Janet Davis Grizzell, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia. Mr. Grizzell was born in Elbert County on October 27, 1939, to the late Joseph Emmer Grizzell and Nellie Mae Killebrew Grizzell. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a retired truck driver having worked in the granite industry. "Boggie" loved motorcycles and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Janet, of the home; children: Alvin Mitchell Grizzell, II, Tonya Ann Peltz and her husband Darryl, Larry Dwayne Grizzell and his wife Bettie Ruth, Lester Paul Grizzell, Michael David Grizzell, Tamara Marie Smith, and Timmy Evans; sister, Verona Raines; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Edward Grizzell; and several brothers and sisters. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, January 10, at 3 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Suttles officiating. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home beginning at 1 o'clock on Sunday prior to the service.
