Mrs. Anne Greenway Ward, widow of George William Ward, passed away peacefully in Athens, Georgia. Miss Anne, as she was lovingly called, was born June 21, 1925 to Melvin T. Greenway and Ruby Cash Greenway of the Rock Branch Community.She attended school in Rock Branch and was employed for thirty-seven years as an Administrative Assistant at Elberton First Baptist Church.She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.As a member of the Historical Committee, she enjoyed her time preserving the history of the church. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Ward Stallings (Jim) of Athens, and Lynne Ward Seeger (Walt) of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Melissa Bowen Butler (Don) of Apollo Beach, FL, George Martin Neal (Jenni) of Lavonia, Claudia Anne Seeger of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Walter Rhodes Seeger, Jr (Tina) of Augusta, Joshua James Stallings (April) of Fayetteville; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Norma Greenway Hunt of Sanford, FL; sister in law, Verna Greenway of Elberton.She was predeceased by an infant son, three brothers and three sisters. In consideration of the health of family and friends, a private family memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, memorials may be made to Elberton First Baptist Church, Ramp Ministry, 132 Heard Street, Elberton, GA 30635.
