Mrs. Annie Laura Turpin Butler, 88, of Thomson, formerly of Dewy Rose, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2010. A native of Washington, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Claude and Lona Elizabeth Vinson Turpin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Reed Butler.Mrs. Butler was retired from Timkin Company, an automotive parts manufacturer. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and David Morris, of Augusta, Irene and Noble Drake, of Warrenton, Doris and Rick Appelt, of Thomson, Bonnie and Paul Taylor, of Cartersville; sons and daughter-in-law, John Thomas Young, of Washington and Charles Edward and Linda Young, of Cumming; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to That’s What Friends Are For Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 9490, Augusta, GA 30906-9490. A private service was held in Elmhurst Cemetery, where Mrs. Butler was laid next to her husband, Donald Butler.
