AzaLee Faith Dawson

Miss AzaLee Faith Dawson, 18, of Elberton, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Born in Athens on December 26, 2005, AzaLee was the only child and beloved daughter of Steven Christopher Dawson and Rachael Lyn Callaghan. She was a 2024 graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School where she was First Battalion Command Sergeant Major of the Blue Devil Brigade in the JROTC program. AzaLee was a Sergeant with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 746. AzaLee was currently a student at Emmanuel University and employed as a receptionist at Royston Animal Hospital.

AzaLee was known to most all who met her as an outgoing, bubbly, and energetic girl. AzaLee was intelligent, funny, and kind to anyone she came into contact with. She had a fond love for history, all animals and loved to cook. AzaLee was a very strong young lady with an old soul.

Surviving, in addition to her parents Chris and Rachael, are her grandparents: Hugh Callaghan and Richard and Ann McAlister; great-grandparents, Wayne and Sherry Dawson; aunts and uncles: Katrina Bohannon (Jamie), Joseph Dawson, Kyle Callaghan, and Caitlin McNair (Ronny); and great-uncle, Mike Dawson. 

A time of visitation celebrating AzaLee’s life will be held on Thursday evening, December 5, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
