Barbara Lane Hicks

Barbara Ann Lane Hicks ended her earthly journey and began her long-awaited life at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Barbara was born to Wade and Hazel Lane on June 28, 1940 and raised in Reynolds, Georgia, where she married her childhood sweetheart, Edward Gray Hicks, at the age of 20. They moved to Elberton, Georgia shortly thereafter, raised two children- son, Michael Edward Hicks and daughter, Cathy Hicks Gurganious. Together they ran Herndon Drugs for nearly 40 years. She moved to North Carolina to be closer to her children after Ed died in 2010.

Barbara will be missed by Mike (wife Beck) and granddaughter, Jasmine, and Cathy and her son, Jacob. As well as her brothers, Rusty Lane (wife Denise) of Orange Park, Florida and Don Lane (wife Margie) of Palatine, Illinois.

Graveside services will be held for Barbara on Saturday, April 13, at 11 o'lock at Elmhurst Cemetery in Elberton, where her ashes will be interred next to the love of her life.
