Barbara Mccurry Heath

Barbara McCurry Heath, 89, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, formerly of Churchhill Road, Elberton, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Greenville, South Carolina. She is predeceased by her parents, Carl and Pearl McCurry; her sisters, Letty Dunbar and Claire Haynie; her brother, William H. "Bill" McCurry; and her son-in-law, James Priestley. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Frances and Dewey Fortson, Sr. and Donna Priestley. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dewey, Jr. and Lara Fortson, Stacy F. and Tom Behnke, Valerie F. and Stephen Ferguson, Ginny P. and Daryl Moody; and great-grandchildren, James and Daniel Fortson, Mary-Frances and Logan Behnke, Isaac Ferguson, and Kathleen Moody. She was a registered nurse and member of the First United Methodist Church in Elberton, DAR, and Pilot Club. Graveside services will be held 3 P.M. Sunday, June 24, in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church.
