Mrs. Barbara Ann Rousey Thomason, 79, of Elberton, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Elbert Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Thomason was born in Elberton, on July 25, 1934 to the late Clyde Wansley and Anna Milne Rousey. Mrs. Thomason is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James M. Thomason; two daughters: Margie Milner of Elberton and Beth Lakis and her husband Dave of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren: Emily Milner Smith and her husband Troy of Savannah, Mark Thomason Milner of Athens, Hannah and Meredith Lakis of Rodgers, Arkansas; and one great-grandchild: Brennyn Smith of Savannah. She is also survived by a sister, Susan Sexton and her husband John and a brother Henry C. Rousey and his wife Barbara. Mrs. Thomason was a retired bookkeeper. She dedicated many years to the granite industry and she retired from Star Granite Company. She was a member of the Stephen Heard Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star, V.F.W Auxiliary and Goss Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Thomason will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Meeks officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the funeral Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery.
