Mr. Barry Don King, 78, of Bowman, GA passed away on, Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Mr. King was born in Elberton, GA on August 19, 1943, son of the late Clyde William King and the late Seaborn Ginn King. He was a pilot having worked in the private sector for many years, for Atlantic Southeast from 1986-1998, and was also the Elberton Airport manager for a number of years. Mr. King was also a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, Marcile Vickery King; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Laurie King of Danielsville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tony Carey of Bowman, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Bob Thorpe of Lula, GA; grandchildren, Destiny and Stephen Lashoto, Drew and Leslie Carey, Draisen and Rosemary Carey, Donavan and Madisen Carey, Brendan King, and Camaron King; great-grandchildren, Evan, Heidi, Veda, Allie, Maelyn, Chandler, Kason, Levi, Oksana, Nell, Janie, and one on the way.

Funeral services for Mr. King will be held in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, with Rev. Jamie Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bowman.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. During other times the family will be at the home of Sharon and Tony Carey; 50 Carey Street Bowman, GA 30624.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
