Barry Leland Phillips

Mr. Barry Leland Phillips, 72, of Elberton, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital. following a sudden illness.

Mr. Phillips was born in Elberton on June 3, 1949, son of the late Haskell Phillips and Sarah Nell “Sabie” Anderson Philips. He was a retired welder having worked for Flour Daniel in Greenville, SC.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Barbara Lynn of Greenville, SC; daughter, Blair and Rusty Burdette of Elberton; daughter-in-law, Merci and Jimmy Hunter of Elberton; sister, Marsha and Jimmy Robinson of Greenville, SC; and grandchildren: Braxton Burdette, Georgia Phillips, Brylie Burdette, Amelia Phillips, Brinson Burdette, Brody Burdette, Ansley Hunter, and Kane Hunter.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Brent Leland Phillips.

At Barry’s request, a private celebration of life service will be held.
