Benjamin Paul Mathews

Mr. Benjamin Paul Mathews, 49, of Carlton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. Mr. Mathews was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, son of the late Eugene and Kimiko Shimabuku Mathews.He was the husband of Jennifer Underwood Mathews, having celebrated over 15 years of marriage together.Mr. Mathews was a quarry foreman for Quarries, Inc. In addition to his wife, Jennifer Mathews, Ben is also survived by his sister, Kimberly Faust and her husband, Buck, of Oglethorpe County; a beloved nephew, Cole Faust; and his mother-in-law, Janice Underwood of Lexington. A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Mathew’s life was held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Burt’s Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. David Burt officiating. Arrangements for Mr. Ben Mathews were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
