Betsy Lou McLanahan Snellings

Mrs. Betsy Lou McLanahan Snellings, 95, of Athens Highway, Elberton, GA passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, peacefully at her home with her three children by her side.

Mrs. Snellings was born May 9, 1929, in Elberton, GA to Mack Albert McLanahan and Agnes Noggle McLanahan. She was a member of Doves Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Dupont. Mrs. Snellings loved entertaining her family and friends by cooking many wonderful meals.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Vernon McLanahan Snellings and Wesley Tyler Snellings and Lory Taylor Snellings; daughter, Tonia Celisa Snellings; two grandchildren: Matthew Vernon Snellings and Wesley Wayne Snellings; two fur-babies Sooner and Sparky; and nieces and nephews: Yvonne Fortson, Mack Powell, Diane Culpepper, Rhonda Graham, Charles Snellings II, Connie Holt, and Debbie McIntosh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dorris Vernon Snellings; and siblings: Jimmie McLanahan and Albert McLanahan.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Monday, January 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM just prior at Berry Funeral Home.
