Betty Claire Colvard Jones

Betty Claire Colvard Jones, 82, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Lincolnton Highway, Elberton, wife of the late William Stockton Jones, passed away Wednesday morning, September 21, 2011, at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, SC. Mrs. Jones was born was born in Bowman, January 4, 1929, daughter of the late James Vickery Colvard, Sr. and Caudie Bell Booth Colvard. She was an accountant in the granite industry and a former employee of Samuel Elbert Academy. Mrs. Jones was a longtime member and musician at Bethel E. Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Michael Jones of Anderson, SC and Keith Jones of Graham, NC; and three grandchildren, Zac, Drew, and Erin Jones. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her brother, J.V. Colvard, Jr. and sister, Fannie Bell Harris. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 4PM Friday, September 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Marshall Tribble officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4PM Friday, just prior to the service.
