Betty Jo Hall Colvard, 81, of 3428 Defoor Road, Toccoa, Georgia, formerly of Elberton,passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012. Born on September 19, 1930 in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Hoyt Alexander Hall and Fannie Beatrice Smith Hall. Betty Jo was a china painting artist and a floral designer. Betty Jo was the owner/operator of Colvard’s Florist for over 20 years. She was a retired employee of the Toccoa Walmart.She was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sherald Johnson Colvard. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta C. and Keith Cheek of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Sherald Joe and Merrie Colvard of Elberton, and John and Connie Colvard of Toccoa; grandchildren, Alexa Robertson, Camran Fleming, Ryan Fleming, Autumn Cheek, Scott Cheek, Justin Colvard, Jamie Colvard, Morgan Ertzberger, Taylor Ertzberger, Elizabeth Marstellar, Tara Presley, Eric Wolf; 12 great-grandchildren.Several other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Elmhurst Cemetery. Reverends David Keister and Kenny Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM Monday night January 9, 2012 at Hicks Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Joe and Merrie Colvard, 1577 Brewers Bridge Road in Elberton. Flowers will be accepted. Pallbearers will include Camran Fleming, Ryan Fleming, Brandon Ivester, Justin Colvard, Eddie Stowers, Eric Wolf and Chris Robertson.
