Mrs. Betty Brewer Dye Bond, 92, of Cardinal Drive, Elberton, wife of nearly 70 years to the late Clifford Jackson Bond, Jr., entered into rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Bond was born in Elberton on August 7, 1927, daughter of the late Floyd Seaborn Dye, Sr. and Ruby Inez Smith Dye. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Elberton where she was an active member as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include her sons: Clif Bond of Winston-Salem, NC and George Bond, Sr. of Athens; grandchildren: Mary Catherine Reese and Phillip, Margaret Bond, Michelle Bond, George Bond, Jr., Ashley Bond, and Alex Bond; one great-grandchild: Hazel Reese; siblings: Dora Dye, Esther Woodard, Mary Anne McGee, Linda Bennett, and Sara McCannon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cathy Bond; and siblings: Floyd Dye, Jr., Thomas Dye, and Kathleen Griffith.
Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Jim McCollough officiating.
