Betty Jane Greenway

Mrs. Betty Jane Anderson Greenway, 85, of Elberton, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.A native of Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late William Frank and Lucy Anderson. Betty Jane was devoted to caring for her family, loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. She and Harold lived in Atlanta while raising five beautiful daughters. Shortly after Harold retired they moved back to Elberton. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always greeted visitors with a smile and a hug. Betty Jane was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and will forever be missed. She is survived by Harold Greenway, her husband of 67 years, and four loving daughtersCheryl Kennedy ofBogart, GA, Carla Creel of Walnut Cove, NC, Pamela Greenway (Tom) of Elberton, GA, Katrina (Gary) Whiteof Hartwell, GA, and daughter-in-law Claudia Erdmann of Elberton.Grandchildren Stephen Kennedy, Michele (Wesley) Fambrough, Ayanna Greenway, Penny Black, April Greenway, Patrick Greenway, William (Laura) White, Addy Erdmann (Michael), Pam (Zach) Cruce, Monica (Robert) Quattrocchi and many great grandchildren, her brother Parks Anderson (Libby) and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Greenway. A service to celebrate Mrs. Greenway’s life was held on Friday, March 31, 2017at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. A time of visitation was held at 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Private interment followed in Coldwater United Methodist Church Cemetery.
