Mr. William Edwards “Bill” Drennan, 69, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, in Athens following a sudden and brief illness.

He leaves behind his devoted children, William Clark Drennan, James Derek Drennan (Jessica) and Britny Rebecca Drennan; his loving grandson Andrew Guillebeau; his loyal brothers, Harry Agurs Drennan, II, Frank Miller Drennan (Anne), and Robert Clark Drennan (Kimberly); his first cousin Howard Cleveland (Carol); his Aunt Carolyn Anne and Uncle Mack J. McMullan, and Uncle James Clark Edwards; his many nieces and nephews, Jessica Drennan, Harry Agurs Drennan, III (Bridget), James Edwards Drennan (Lindsey), Andrew Drennan, Chelsea Drennan, and William “Billy” Drennan (Jessica); two great nieces, and many close friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Parks Drennan.

Born and raised in Elberton, the son of Harry Agurs, Sr. and Dorothy Edwards Drennan, Mr. Drennan attended and played sports, including basketball and football, for Elbert High School. He went on to own his own business in the granite industry. After retirement, he devoted his time to caring for his mother, before her passing, and spending time with family. He was especially devoted to his grandson, Andrew. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing with friends and family.

Mr. Drennan’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will receive friends for visitation at Berry Funeral Home, 1265 Washington Highway, Elberton, Georgia, on Sunday, August 20, 2017, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Although he is now and forever “gone fishing”; he will always be loved and missed.

Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in Mr. Drennan’s memory to the Trust of Andrew Guillebeau, 1064 31st St South, Birmingham, Alabama 35205.
