Mrs. Billie Colene Smith died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the age of 67.Mrs. Smith was born on August 1, 1948 in Waukegan, Illinois to William Payton and Isabel Frances Young Payton. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 32 years, Tony Smith.She is survived by her children, Sissie and Chris Samples of Hartwell, Clifford and Nadine Smith of Elberton, Ira and Amie Smith of Elberton, Tony and Misty Smith of Covington, and Tonya and Daryl Lee of Cobb, Ga.She is survived by thirteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mrs. Smith’s life was held on Wednesday, April 6at 2:00 p.m. in Hicks Funeral Home Chapel.A time of visitation for friends and family was held Tuesday, April 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan Smith officiated, and entombment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, Ruckersville United Methodist Church, or Shriners. Arrangements for Mrs. Billie Colene Smith were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
