Billy Garnell Ingram

Mr. Billy Garnell Ingram, 68, of Elberton, husband of 47 years to Vera Ann Johnson Ingram, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital Kindred Hospice Unit.

Mr. Ingram was born in Elberton on August 25, 1949, son of the late Elmer Clyde Ingram and Pearl Blanche Fields Ingram. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a self-employed carpenter and painter. Billy served his community as a first responder and volunteer fireman for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Vera; two sons: Keith and Crystal Ingram and Dale and Amy Ingram; siblings: Carolyn “Cacky” Tiller of Winder, Joan Floyd of Griffin, and Johnny Ingram of Elberton; grandchildren: Britley Ingram and Jonathan Bridges, Blake and Niki Ingram, Rebecca Ingram, Eric Ingram, Deborah Ingram, Cadence Ingram, and Emalynn Fisher; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Campos.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 11 o’clock at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Inurnment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family is at the residence of Keith and Crystal Ingram, 2222 Hartwell Highway, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday evening.

Fellow firemen will serve as honorary pallbearers.
