Bobbie Waters Johnson

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Waters Johnson, 85, of Mineral Springs Road, Elberton, wife of 66 years to Joe Johnson, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Pruitt Health at Spring Valley.

Mrs. Johnson was born on July 5, 1932, daughter of the late Paul Richard Waters and Maggie Jane Wiles Waters. She was a retired secretary having worked at Beaverdam Elementary School and a devoted member of West End Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years. “MowMow”, as she was known to her family, enjoyed reading, gardening, and being with her family.

In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Jan Johnson of Greenwood, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jeff Moon of Bowman; sister and brother-in-law, Johnnie and Jim Bradford of Elberton; grandchildren and their spouses: Clint and Amy Johnson, Christopher and Shellie Johnson, and Jessica and Travis Bryant; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, February 11, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Fife officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00-2:45p.m. prior to the service on Sunday.
