Mr. Bobby Lynn Maxwell, 58, of Factory Hole Road, Bowman, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in Bowman as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Bobby was born in Bowman on July 28, 1965, son of Pearlie Mae Blakely James and the late Frank Maxwell. He was educated in the Elbert County School System and a 1983 graduate of Elbert County High School. His faith was instilled in him at a young age, and he was a life long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. A hard working man, Bobby worked in the construction industry for most of his life. He was a very humorous person who always had a smile on his face. Bobby loved everybody and would give you the shirt off of his back. He always took care of his Mama who he loved dearly.
Surviving are his children: Kristopher Rucker of Augusta and Demetriauna Anderson of Duluth; mother, Pearlie Mae James of Bowman; siblings: Lucy Mae Morrison of Elberton, Willie Lee Maxwell of Athens, and Hilda Ann Teasley of Bowman; sister-in-law, Deborah Ann Maxwell of Elberton; grandchildren: Chaston Tillman, Kristopher Rucker, Jr., Jaylen Scott, Micah Merritt, Nikkalaus Chambers, Nikkole Chambers; nieces and nephews: Luther Morrison, Jr., Maurice Maxwell, Josiah Maxwell, Terrance Rambert, Brian Rambert, Lasonia Smith, Tye Maxwell, Kenyatta Maxwell, Thomas Maxwell, Jr., Moesha Maxwell, Latosha Maxwell, Scheryl Maxwell, Charleston Alexander, Carmen Hickman, and Sheila Maxwell; special friend, Debra Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father; step-father, Crayman Verdell James, Sr.; and siblings: Virginia Ann Smith, Joseph Frank Maxwell, Thomas Lee Maxwell, Carolyn Maxwell, Crayman Verdell James, Jr., and Sheila Rucker.
Bobby will lie in state on Friday, September 8, from 10:00-5:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 11:00a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. He will be placed in the church at 10:00a.m.
