Bobby O'Neal Drake

Mr. Bobby O'Neal Drake, 81, of Dempsey Brown Rd., Dewy Rose, GA husband of the late Lynda Dove Drake passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Drake was born July 23, 1936 in Madison County, GA to Joe Lump Drake and Lou Emma Wilson Drake. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and was retired from the granite industry. Mr. Drake was a proud veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Ranger, 504 Company B during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Stevie and Kay Drake, Patty Gaines and Herald, Stacey and Kellie Drake; siblings: Betty Bailey, Bordie Drake and Sandra Pless; grandchildren: Stephanie Drake Simmons and Josh, Ashley Ray, Miller Drake and Madden Drake; great-grandchildren: Ellie Simmons and Emersyn Ray.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter: Crystal Dawn Drake.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2PM, Wednesday August 2 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Davie Joe Floyd, Ronnie Dove, Jeff Floyd, Zach Floyd, Jeremy Jones and Rocky Jones serving as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Stevie Drake, 2694 Dempsey Brown Rd., Dewy Rose, GA and will receive friends from 12-2PM just before the service at Berry Funeral Home.
