Bobby Ray Hopkins

Bobby Ray Hopkins, 83, of 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, Georgia husband of Frances Marlene Doby Hopkins passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Born in China Grove, North Carolina June 30, 1929 to the late Zollie James and Nellie Hopkins Broadway. He was a retired custodian from the South Carolina Department of Transportation and a U.S. Marine Veteran. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Frances Marlene Doby Hopkins, his children Franklin of Lexington, South Carolina; Claude of Salisbury, North Carolina; Robert of Daytona Beach, Florida; Joanne of Royston, Georgia; Paulette of Lexington, South Carolina; Bobbie Nell of Daytona Beach, Florida; Renee of Michigan; Danielle of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister Wootsie of North Carolina and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Ernie Hopkins. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at a later date at the home.
