Mr. Bobby Ray Whitehead, 88, of W. Tate Street, Elberton, husband of 63 years to Evie Lee McCannon Whitehead, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Whitehead was born in Oconee County on August 20, 1932, son of the late Ben Franklin Whitehead, Sr. and Mattie Bell Middlebrooks Whitehead. He was a dump truck driver having worked for McLanahan Crushed Stone and was a member of Collier Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Evie, include his children: Bobby J. and Pagie Whitehead of Loganville and Brenda W. and David Baugh of Elberton; sister, Elsie Smith of Ft. Valley; grandchildren: Kitize and Marc Fleming, Jaime and Bryan Clardy, Brandon and Tara Baugh, and Nikki and Ben Trant; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ben F. Whitehead, Jr.

Graveside services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, December 29, at 2 o’clock at Collier Baptist Church Cemetery in Comer. The family is at the residence.
