Brenda Jean Oglesby Davis

Mrs. Brenda Jean Oglesby Davis, 66, of Old Middleton Road, Elberton, wife of Robert Lee Davis, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Davis was born on September 1, 1955, in Tampa, FL to Jessie Oglesby and Lois Frances Thompson Oglesby, both of whom preceded in her death. She was an active member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church where she served as President of the Youth Choir and a member of the Usher Board. Mrs. Davis was a seamstress for over two decades before retiring from early childhood education.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Davis; children: Latoya Jones and Ernest of Elberton, Brenda Allen and Christopher of Elberton, and Felicia Davis of Lawrenceville; bonus daughter, Monica Rucker of Elberton; siblings: Virginia Bolden of Bowman, Dean Dye of Elberton, James Henry Allen of Greenville, Jeannette Clark of Elberton, Patricia Gary and Lenard of Elberton, and Minister Jettie Tate of Athens; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Venessa Davis; sister, Jesse Oglesby; and brother, Ora Thomas Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday November 3, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lincoln Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6PM to 7PM on Tuesday evening at Berry Funeral Home.
