Bridgette Gurley Carlton

Bridgette Gurley Carlton, 55, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on October 12, 2022, after a long battle with renal cancer.

Bridgette was born on October 2, 1967 in Hartwell, GA, the daughter of Joe Gurley and the late Anne Stovall Gurley.  

She was a graduate of Hart County High School, class of 1985. She attended Greenville Technical College and Tri-County Technical College and studied nursing. She worked 22 years with ophthalmologist Dr. Victor A Crosby. Bridgette married Marcus Carlton in 1988 and they were married 34 years.  

Bridgette was preceded in death by step mother, Ann Stovall Gurley; sister, Rebecca; brother, Barry.  

Bridgette is survived by husband, Marc, and two sons, Christopher (Britney) of Braselton, GA; Clay (Kelsey) of Statham, GA; father, Joe Gurley; and grandchildren Emmett and Thomas. Other survivors include her niece, Brianna; nephew, Corey; and great nephews, Luke and Greyson.  

A graveside service will take place at 3:30 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 in Elmhurst Cemetery with Reverend Kenny Martin officiating.
