Cadgene Burton

Mr. Cadgene Burton, 74, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Burton was born in Elberton on July 12, 1950, son of the late Robert Burton, Sr. and Effie Mae Rucker Willingham. He was retired from the granite industry where he worked in the polishing and shipping departments. 

Surviving are his son, Mack Arthur “Fleetwood" Burton; daughter, Casandra Glaze; brothers: Robert Burton, Jr. and Frank Burton; sisters: Winnie Willis and Dorothy Hood; grandchildren; Tobias Burton, LiKimberley Burton, Santekia Burton, Kimbernesha Burton, Treyvon Burton, Kier Johnson, Montrez burton, Sombra Whitfield, Tayana Fortson, Re'al Fortson; great-grandchildren: Kamille Burton, Paisley Sanders, Dmari Addison, Marquez Burton, Markel Burton, Tyshawn Burton; a special niece, Kasey Burton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Jason Burton and Melanie Burton.

The family is at the home of Kasey Burton, 572 Almond Street, Elberton, and will receive friends on Friday, November 8, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

Funeral services celebrating Cad’s life will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, at 2:00p.m at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lincoln Heights Cemetery.
