Carol Ann Looney Harris

Mrs. Carol Ann Looney Harris, 83, of Pembroke Circle, Elberton, wife of the late Henry Daniel Harris, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at her residence. 

Mrs. Harris was born in Calhoun Falls, SC on February 21, 1940, daughter of the late Talmadge Dewitt Looney and Estelle Walters Looney. She was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Elberton. Carol worked at Harper Motor Lines and L&M Granite Company before becoming a self-employed tax preparer. She enjoyed her work and loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her children: Wanda and Jeff Stratton of Elberton, Dwain and Paula Harris of Lavonia, and Jason Harris of Elberton; brother, Olin Looney of Texas; brother-in-law, Pete and Merlene Harris of Elberton; sister-in-law, Estelle and Troy Colquitt of Elberton; grandchildren: Tori Stratton, Whitley Bellew, Andrew Harris, Grayson Harris, and Easton Harris; great-grandchildren: Dawson, Bryson, Presley, Maddox, and Kolynns; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Nettie Lou Pless, Marlene Yon, and Melvin Looney. 

The family is at their respective residences and will receive friends on Saturday, August 12, from 10:00-10:45.a.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will follow at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
