Carol Lynn Taylor Smith

Mrs. Carol Lynn Taylor Smith, 65, died Saturday morning (January 4, 2014) at her residence in Blackshear, GA following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was a daughter to Betty Taylor of Elberton and the late E.L. Taylor. She was a native of Brunswick, GA but had resided in Blackshear, GA since 1984. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern University and retired after 32 years as a teacher from Ware County High School. She is survived by two sons, Josh Smith (wife Bethany) of Waycross and Dalton Smith of Blackshear; three grandchildren, Solas Smith, Taylan Smith, and Michaiam Smith; her mother, Betty Taylor of Elberton, GA; and two sisters, Marlene Floyd (husband Wayne) of Royston, GA and Elaine Daniels (husband Mitch) of Alford, FL. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (January 8, 2014) at the Berry Funeral Home Chapel in Elberton, GA. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the residence of her mother, Betty Taylor on Ruckersville Road, Elberton, and will be receiving friends Wednesday at the Berry Funeral Home from 12 until 1 o’clock. The family will also be receiving friends Tuesday evening at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, GA from 6 until 8 o’clock.
