Mrs. Jean Carolyn Almond Vickery, age 86, of Elberton, ended her course in faith on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
She was born in Elberton, daughter of the late Caulous and Mat Tavie Brown Almond. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton. "Mutcha" as she was affectionately called, enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her yard tending to her many flower gardens. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Patz Vickery, after sharing nearly 53 years of marriage.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Steve Dean of Piedmont, SC and Debbie and David King of Elberton; brother, Norris and Mary Alice Almond of Dewy Rose; sister, Joyce Simmons of Elberton; four grandchildren: Mandi and Steve Shrum of Piedmont,SC, Gregg Dean of Orlando, FL, Toni King of Dewy Rose, and Katrina King of Dewy Rose; great-grandchildren: Logan Moss, Benjamin Shrum, Nathaniel Shrum, Maggie Dean, and Zoey Dean; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home at 1147 Sutton Way, Elberton, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 1:00-3:00p.m.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
