Carolyn Harper Childs

Mrs. Mildred Carolyn Harper Childs, 86, formerly of Myrtle Street, Elberton widow of the late John L. Childs, Jr., passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Spring Valley Healthcare. Mrs. Childs was born November 16, 1927 in Elberton, GA to the late Gus Harper and Farrie Bell Snellings Harper. She was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Left to cherish her memories are sons John Childs, III; Robert "Bob" K. Childs, Sr.; Steve L. Childs; daughter Connie Childs Eaves; sister Betty Jo Sierra of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Harry Harper and a grandchild. Graveside funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 11AM, Monday, August 11 at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Kenny Martin officiating.
