Myrtis Carolyn Bradberry Holloman

Mrs. Myrtis Carolyn Bradberry Holloman, 85, of Elberton, GA, wife of 57 years to the late Dr. Norman Thompson Holloman, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens following a sudden illness. 

 

Mrs. Holloman was born in Abbeville, SC on October 9, 1938, daughter of the late Rayford Lloyd Bradberry and Myrtis Marisue Dillawshaw Bradberry. Carolyn graduated from Abbeville  High School and later graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA, as Valedictorian of both graduating classes, an accomplishment of which she was extremely proud. 

 

She met Thompson Holloman while both were attending Berry College in Rome. Following graduation, Carolyn worked as secretary for United States Representative, Bryan Dorn. Mrs. Holloman later worked at Southeastern Power Administration in Elberton before teaching accounting and business classes at Elbert County Comprehensive High School and Athens Technical College.

 

Carolyn was steadfast in her love for Jesus Christ, and enjoyed reading Christian literature and watching Christian movies. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an avid collector of dolls and loved dogs, especially Lisa’s Lehi. 

 

Mrs. Holloman is survived by her daughter, Dr. Lisa Carol Holloman of Elberton, GA; her sister, Lura Jean Bradberry Wolford of Tallahassee, FL; and her nephew, Stephen John Wolford of San Francisco, CA. 

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17, from 10:00-10:45a.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

 

Funeral services celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, February 17, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. 

 

Flowers are accepted and those desiring may make a contribution in Mrs. Holloman’s memory to the church of your choice.
