Carolyn S. McWhorter

Mrs. Carolyn Suddeth McWhorter, 77, of Elberton, Georgia passed away at Elbert Memorial Hospital on October 16, 2013. Mrs. McWhorter was born in Lexington, Georgia on January 2, 1936 to the late Joseph Bowden and Ruby Harris Suddeth. She was a member of Doves Creek Baptist Church. Carolyn worked for Action, Inc. for several years and cared for many children. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Benjamin Cassels McWhorter; Children: Fred McWhorter of Elberton, Martha Worsham of Elberton, Ann Hewston of Aiken, South Carolina and Allen McWhorter of Elberton. She is also survived by three (3) grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mrs. McWhorter’s life was held on Sunday, at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends was held just prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to Elbert County Humane Society.
