Mrs. Carrie Felter Andrews Butler, 87, of Nancy Hart Nursing Home, formerly of Seaboard Street, Elberton, wife of the late Henry Sanford Butler, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Butler was born in Wilkes County on June 18, 1926, to the late Richard Loyd Andrews and Vacie Mae Bradford Andrews. She retired from Elberton Mills and was a member of Elberton Christian Church. She and her husband, both avid campers, were members of the Dixie Drifters and the Retirees Camping Club. Left to cherish her memories are her sons: Carl Butler of Clayton and Carey Butler and his wife Virginia of Elberton; grandson, Dallas Butler of Elberton; sister, Alice Mullikin of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brothers: Jamie, George, Perry, Monrow, and Wilton Andrews; and sisters: Ada Andrews, Ruby Hall, Ailene Smith, Marie Myers, and Emma Lee Blackwell. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 30, at 3:00p.m. in the Elberton Christian Church with the Rev. J. Wesley Privett and Mr. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Butler will lie instate for one prior to the service at the church. The family is at the residence of Carey and Virginia Butler, Heard Street, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday evening.
