Charles Edward Pless, Sr.

Charles Edward Pless, Sr., 69, of 2859 Cherokee Road, Elberton, husband of Myrtle Waters Pless, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Pless was born in Toccoa, September 24, 1943, to the late Horace Monroe and Parie Taylor Pless. He retired from the construction industry and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of the home, Myrtle Waters Pless; children, Charles E. Pless, Jr. and Stacey Pless Collins, both of Elberton; siblings, Bobby Monroe Pless of Elberton, Fred L. Pless of Hartwell, John D. Pless of Elberton, Nancy R. Blackmon of Elberton, and Nellie M. Capell of Elberton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence E. Pless. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 2:30PM Saturday, December 1 in the Gaines Chapel Church, Hart County, with the Rev. Clifford Shepard officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The Pless family will receive friends at the church from 1PM until the service hour Saturday afternoon.
