Mr. Charles Lewis Turner, 78, of Thomas Street, Elberton, husband of the late June Boyd Turner, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at The Oaks in Athens. Mr. Turner was born in Oglethorpe County on March 25, 1936, to the late Jack L. and Ethel Kidd Turner. He was a salesman for 20 years having worked with Weatherly Furniture Company and was a self-employed appliance repairman. He also served as Constable for Elbert County Magistrate Judge and was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish his memories are his children: Ray Turner and his wife Monica of Elberton and Tammy Floyd and her husband Tommie of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Dawn Floyd, Crystal Floyd, Shannon Floyd, Clint Turner and his wife Jenika, and Haylee Rae Turner; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: James Turner and his wife Mary of Elberton and Frances Brayon and her husband Roger of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, December 31, at 4:00p.m. in Elmhurst Cemetery with Elder George Willoughby officiating. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00p.m. until time to leave for the service. The family respectfully request no flowers.
