Charles Franklin Mathews

Mr. Charles Franklin Mathews, 78, of North Eades Rd. Carlton, GA passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Hospital.

Mr. Mathews was born November 13, 1944 in Lexington, GA to Ralph Mathews and Annie Mae Aaron Mathews. He was a member of Millstone Baptist Church and was an retired electrical coil winder at ABB, a former baliff for the Oglethorpe County Court House and a U.S. Army Reserves Veteran.

He is survived by his wife: Linda Jane Gunter Mathews; sons: James Patrick Mathews, William Christopher Mathews both of Carlton, GA; sister: Betty King of Lexington, GA and brother: Danny Mathews of Lexington, GA.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2PM, Sunday, August 27 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. David Burt officiating. Interment will be in Carlton City Cemetery with Wayne Sorrow, Derek Paul, Cody King, Matt King, Steve King and Jeremy Burt serving as pallbearers.

The family will recieve firends from 1PM to 2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
