Mr. Charles Winfred Seigler, 83, of Dewy Rose, Georgia passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at Landmark Hospital in Athens, Georgia with his family at his side. Mr. Seigler was the son of the late Charles J. Seigler and Maude Christian Seigler.He was married for over 62 years to his bride, Juanita Dickerson Seigler. Mr. Seigler was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.He was a graduate of the University of Georgia,and began his life’s work as an educator in Banks County and then later in Elbert County.He went on to become the owner/operator of Savannah Valley Gas Co. and Seigler Oil. In addition to his wife, Mr. Seigler is survived by his daughter, Karen S. (Stuart) Erwin of Dewy Rose. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Adam (Kuhiwa) Erwin and Amanda Jane Erwin; a brother, Herald E. (Peggy) Seigler; sisters: Betty (George) Turk, Shirley (Lamar) Perry, and Delina (Jim) Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Gunnells. A service to celebrate Mr. Seigler’s life was held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Huff, Rev. Adam Erwin and Rev. Ed Sayer officiating.
