Mr. Charles “Chuck” Dennis Vinson, 69, of Lindsey St. in Tignall, died Thursday morning at the Elbert County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Vinson was born in Washington and had lived in Wilkes County for all of his life. He was the son of the late Dennis Herbert Vinson and Anna Frances Clark Vinson. He worked at and retired from Western Electric where he was an installer. He had worked at the Tignall Police Department and at the Wilkes County Sherriff’s Department for a number of years. He was a Mason, and was Past Master and Treasurer of Hiram Lodge #51 F. & A. M. He was also a member of Lafayette Lodge #23 F. & A. M. He was Past Master of the Elbert-Wilkes Convention, and a member of the Washington Shrine Club. He was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church. Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 3:00 in the Tignall Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Tignall Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zack McClanahan, Brownie Teasley, Lloyd Ruff, Jimmy Gulley, Jerome Wilson, and Gary Crook. Mr. Vinson is survived by two sisters, Kathryn Wilhite (Hugh), of Elberton, and Debby Haynes (Pete), also of Elberton; five nieces and nephews,six great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
