Charlie Lester Wilder

Charlie Lester Wilder, age 61, of Elberton, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010 at Landmark Hospital, Athens. Born on October 13, 1948 in Elbert County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mattie Belle Brackett Wilder. Mr. Wilder was a truck driver for the granite industry and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jones Wilder. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Harrell, and Charlene Dutton; son, Charles Wilder; and six grandchildren. Several other relatives and friends also survive. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at 2PM in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend DeWayne Haley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home of Dorothy and Raymond Harrell, 707 Church Street, Royston, and will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday evening at Hicks Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted.
