Mrs. Clara Mae Tate Allgood, 77, of Pembroke Circle, Elberton, wife of the late John Kenneth Allgood, entered into rest on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Allgood was born in Elbert County on August 12, 1940, daughter of the late George Richard Tate and Edna Lee Lyle Tate. She was a monumental draftsman having worked along side her husband at Allgood Granite Company. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elberton and the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. “Nanny”, as she was known to her family, loved flowers and anything to do with interior designing.

Survivors include her daughters: Debbie and Jeff Smith and Cindy Allgood and Lee Kelley, all of Elberton; son-in-law, Tony Dickerson of Elberton; grandchildren: Tia Dickerson, Holly Herrequin, Brad Dickerson, Brent Smith, Jade Smith, Chad Smith, and Allen Smith; great-grandchildren: Brylee, Bria, Kenneth, and Easton; and siblings: Becky and Nelson Locke of Elberton and Buddy and Sandy Tate of Sandy Springs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her children: Pamela Dickerson and Brian Allgood.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:00-1:45p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank Celecia Tate, Arlean Butler, Christine Heard, Rebecca Langston, Sandra Lindsey, Melissa Stratton, and Sheryl Partlow for the care given that subsequently allowed Mrs. Allgood to remain at home during her final days.
