Clarence H. Dickerson, 84, of 1010 Tate Circle, Elberton, husband of Ernestine Mann Dickerson, died Monday night, March 21, 2011, at the Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dickerson was born in Elberton, September 27, 1926, son of the late Onnie B. and Quillie Denney Dickerson. He was of the Baptist faith, a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII, and the owner/operator of Dickerson Construction Company. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ernestine Mann Dickerson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Gail D. and Reuben Jordan of Elberton; two sisters, Dolly Cox and Dorothy Ann Parkman, both of Elberton; and three grandchildren, Stacey Dwain Jordan, Wesley Dale and his wife, Caitlin A. Jordan. Mr. Dickerson is predeceased by siblings, Sally Lou Thornton, Eula Bell Franklin, J.T. Dickerson, Pierce Thomas Dickerson, Pearl Carithers, Jettie Mae Woodall, Nancy Kornegay, Lee Onnie Tate, and Gladys Griggs. Services to celebrate and honor his life will be held on Thursday, March 24, at 2PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Dickerson and Reverend Luther Mahoney officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman. The family is at the home, 1010 Tate Circle and will receive friends from 1-2PM Thursday, just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
