Clarine Self Gunter

Mrs. Clarine Self Gunter, 85, of Carlton, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Gunter was born in 1929 in Colbert, Georgia to the late Mack and Sara McClain Self.She was married to the late Leonard Gunter, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Gunter is survived by her children: Brenda Brooks of Austell;Sue (Bobby) Sexton of Danielsville, David (Dale) Gunter of Carlton, and Mike Gunter of Carlton.She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren;and two sisters:Annie Lee Gober of Oklahoma, and Sara Dale Rios of California. Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Gunter, Jr., and a daughter, Shirley Gunter. A service to celebrate Mrs. Gunter's life was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home.Visitation began at 12:30 p.m. just prior to the service.
